17-year-old motorcyclist killed in Chilaw accident

A 17-year-old person was killed after his motorbike collided with a container vehicle in Chilaw last evening, police said.


The accident occurred on Anamaduwa - Chilaw road at around 8.45 p.m.


The deceased has been identified as a resident of Serukale area in Pallama. According to police, the accident occurred as the motorcyclist attempted to enter the main road near the Nagawila junction.


The driver of the container vehicle has been arrested and he will be produced before the Chilaw Magistrate today.
