Highest performing schools in A/L science stream

Two schools from Jaffna District and one from Trincomalee are among the top 10 highest performing schools in the island in the Science Stream, according to the results of the 2016 G.C.E. Advanced Level examination.
Accordingly, the following schools have been identified as the 10 highest performing schools in the science stream:
Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo
Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo
Methodist College, Colombo
S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia
Musaeus College, Colombo
Vembadi Girls’ High School, Jaffna
Royal College, Colombo
Ananda College, Colombo
Zahira College, Trincomalee
Hartley College, Point Pedro
A total of 3,15,605 students sat for the Advanced Level exams held in August last year while some 30,000 of them faced the exam in the science stream.
When contacted by Ada Derana, the department of examinations said that calculating the highest performing schools based on the A/L results are still ongoing and that detailed information will be provided in the future.
