Severe traffic congestion has been reported in the near the Lake House Roundabout and surrounding areas in Colombo Fort due to a protest march organized by Telecom Permanent and Manpower employees.

The protesters are marching towards Temple Trees through Slave Island as Lotus Road has been temporarily closed.

They are expected to meet with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to seek solutions to their demands.

The employees had resorted to the protest as they had not received a proper response regarding demands to provide permanent employment.
