Despite the Delimitation Committee’s report has been gazetted, there is no background to hold the Local Government election, Minister of National Co-existence, Dialogue and Official Languages Mano Ganesan says.

Ganesan pointed out the Provincial Council Act must be amended before holding the poll.

“Just because the Delimitation Committee’s report was gazetted, the election cannot be held,” he said.

Ganesan also said a discussion will be held between several political parties and the Prime Minister in this regard on Monday.
