Man held for forcing two-year-old child to drink liquor

A 33-year-old man will be produced before the Wellawaya Magistrate’s Court for forcing a two-year-old child to drink liquor, police said on Sunday.


The police arrested the individual based on a complaint that he forcibly made the child to consume liquor on Saturday evening.


The child is receiving treatments at the Monaragala hospital following the incident. 


The suspect has been identified as a resident of Pahalagama area in Okkampitiya, poilice added.
