Met Department warns of rough seas

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea area off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Colombo via Batticaloa, Hambantota and Galle. A few showers can be expected in the other sea areas, the Met. Department predicts.
Winds will be north-easterly in direction and speed will be 30-40 kmph
Due to the active cloudiness in the deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Colombo via Batticaloa, Hambantota and Galle, sudden roughness of the sea areas associated with sudden increase of wind speed (up to 70-80kmph) is possible.
