Foreign Minister calls on UN chief in Geneva

Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera has called on UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Geneva.


Samaraweera in a twitter post said, it was a pleasure meeting @UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres today. He said that #SriLanka is a country that is very dear to his heart.


Minister Samaraweera will also be addressing the Human Rights Council later today (28).


The thirty-fourth Session of the Human Rights Council was inaugurated in Geneva by its new elected President, Ambassador Joaquín Alexander Maza Martelli yesterday.
