Navy arrests 12 Indian fishermen

The Sri Lankan Navy has arrested six fishermen from Pudukkottai in Tamil Nadu and six from Nagapattinam districts apart from confiscating two trawler boats.

 
The naval personnel onboard a Fast Attack Craft in the Northern Naval Command together with Sri Lanka Coast Guard arrested the fishermen along with 2 fishing trawlers poaching in the Sri Lankan waters Northwest of Delft Island. 


The arrested fishermen are to be handed over to the Jaffna Assistant Director of Fisheries for onward legal action.
