Five sentenced to death over Panadura murder

Five individuals convicted over the murder of a person in the Alubomulla area in 2003 were sentenced to death by the Panadura High Court today (29).
One person was killed while another was injured following an attack carried out by a group of individuals on April 14, 2003 after a personal dispute had escalated out of proportion.
The verdict in the case was delivered by the court today with of the suspects charged being handed death sentences.
However, the sixth defendant in the case was aquitted by High Court Judge Padmini Ranawaka.
