Police make arrest over Ambalantota shooting

The police have made an arrest in connection with the murder of an individual in Mamadala area in Ambalantota, police said today.
One person was killed and three others were injured following a shooting incident and a subsequent knife attack on 15 April.
Two suspects were apprehended by the Crime Investigation Division of the Tangalle police on Wednesday morning.
Two motorcyclists had reportedly arrived at a social gathering at Alegoda in Mamadala and proceeded to open fire at the attendees. Afterwards one person was killed in the knife attack while another three persons had sustained critical injuries.
The injured were admitted to the Hambantota Hospital.
