Accident leaves one dead and 11 in critical condition

An accident near the four mile mark on the Mahiyangana – Bibile road claimed the life of one woman, while injuring 11 others. 

Police stated that the accident was caused by a van veering off the road and rolling over. 

The 12 individuals who were injured during the accident were admitted to the Bibile base Hospital, where one individual passed away.

The rest of the victims were transferred to the Monaragala Base Hospital.

The deceased was a 64-year-old woman from the Sawanagala area. 

Rideemaliyadda Police have begun further investigations on the matter.
