Strike is being conducted successfully - GMOA

The strike that began at 8.00 am today is being conducted successfully, Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) states.

The Ceylon Teachers’ Union confirmed that about 50 percent of teachers and principals have expressed their support for the strike. The secretary, Mahinda Jayasinghe stated that the strike was being successfully conducted in schools.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Locomotive Operating Engineers’ Union, Indika Dodangoda said that whilst the trains functioned normally during the morning today (05), the trains available were gradually being reduced.
