PM Ranil Wickremesinghe arrives in Beijing

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe accompanied by Professor Maithree Wickremesinghe arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport, China this evening (13).
They left for China to participate in the “One Belt - One Road” Summit. Leaders from about 30 countries are scheduled to participate in the high level round table discussions at this summit. The summit will begin tomorrow (14) under the patronage of President of China Xi Jinping.
On the sidelines of the summit, PM Wickremesinghe will meet and hold bilateral discussions with the President of China, Prime Minister Li Keqiang, and several other heads of states.
The Prime Minister was received at the airport by Mr. Li Changyou, Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka YI Xianliang, and Sri Lankan Ambassador in China Dr. Karunasena Kodithuwakku.
The Sri Lankan delegation included the Minister of Special Assignments Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Minister of City Planning and Water Supply Rauff Hakeem, Minister of Law, Order, and Southern Development Sagala Rathnayake and Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickreme.
