The Sri Lanka Land Reclamation & Development Corporation has identified 36 buildings that have been erected illegally.

The chairman of the corporation, Asela Iddamalgoda stated that the buildings were discovered after an investigation was carried out into the buildings in and around Colombo, given the recent events that occurred, which included a building in Wellawatta collapsing.

Measures have been taken to remove the illegal construction effectively and immediately.
