Public Finance Com. refutes MP vehicle allowance

The Public Finance Committee has informed the speaker that the Supplementary Estimate for MP’s to purchase vehicles will not be approved.
The estimate will not be approved until a document detailing the vehicles already used by the ministers are presented go the committee, which will then have to be presented to the parliament.
Ada Derana Court Correspondent stated that although a supplementary estimate for a few MP’s to purchase vehicles was approved by the previous parliament, the Public Finance Committee suspended this approval accordingly.
A report containing the details of the vehicles used by the MP’s since January 2015 has been requested for by the committee, from the director general of the budget department of Sri Lanka.
