Incidents that threaten the reconciliation process must be prevented – C. D.

Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), C. D. Wickramaratne has instructed officials to prevent incidents that adversely affect the national reconciliation process.
Police Spokesperson, DIG Priyantha Jayakody stated that the Acting IGP had given said instructions in written form to the DIGs, SSPs, SPs and ASPs of the Sri Lanka Police Force.
The Acting IGP has reportedly ordered officials to strictly enforce the law in the areas under their command, and to prevent activities that threaten religious and national reconciliation processes. He has also instructed them to take strict legal action against those found to be committing acts that violate the law and threaten the reconciliation of the country.
Acting IGP C. D. Wickramaratne states that disciplinary action will be taken against officials who fail to enforce the law as instructed.
Police Spokesperson DIG Priyantha Jayakody elaborated that the Acting IGP had issued these orders in an attempt to prevent activities that were being conducted as of late to sabotage the national reconciliation process.
