Security procedure at BIA to be revised

The Airport Services and Aviation Manager stated that a new procedure will be adopted by the Katunayake International Airport, to help tighten security at the location. 

The new protocol will be practiced from the 01.06.2017 onwards. 

Part of the new protocol will include limiting the volume of liquid that passengers will be allowed on board the plane. 

A few of the named goods include; Water, beverages, soups, jams, sauces, concentrates divergent h the liquids can operate at room temperature and types of porridge and liquids.  

All liquids must be placed in a 20 x 20 transparent, seal-able, plastic bag and should not exceed 1 liter, while each passenger will only be allowed one plastic bag.
