DMC issues warnings to residents along Gin and Nilwala banks

The Disaster Management Centre has issued an evacuation notice to residents of Tawalama and Baddegama living along the banks of the Gin Ganga.

The instruction was given owing to the rising water levels of the river.

The Centre has also advised those living along the banks of River Nilwala at Pitabeddara, Urawa and Panadugama to be vigilant of the rising water levels.
