The time allocated to make amendments for voter registration in flood-hit districts has been extended by the Election Commission.

Chairman of the Election Commission, Mahinda Deshapriya stated that the deadline to fill the application forms for the voters registry which was previously set for June 07, has been postponed in flood-hit districts, owing to the adverse weather conditions that shook the nation.

Deshapriya announced this at a press conference held in Kandy.

Furthermore, he also assured that arrangements had been made to enable those who lost their homes to also apply to be included on the voters list.
