Delays on the coastal railway line

June 17, 2017   08:37 am

The Railway Control Room announced that trains travelling along the coastal railway line have been restricted.

The Railway Control Room stated that a technical issue had brought a train carrying petroleum to a standstill between the Kalutara and Payagala railway stations, posing an obstruction along the coastal track.

Accordingly, trains travelling towards Galle will be stopped at Payagala whereas those travelling towards the Fort Railway Station will be stopped at Kalutara, the Railway Control Room stated.

They further added that buses would be available for the passengers aboard trains to travel between the Payagala Railway Station and the Kalutara Railway Station.
