Minister of Public Enterprise Development, Kabir Hashim stated that the appointing of new Joint Opposition party members will not affect the stability of the government.

The statements were brought out while responding to a question posed by a journalist during a press briefing held in Mihintale today (11).

He added that if any individual wants to switch parties, then they are free to do so, as all politicians have the right to jeopardize their own political careers if they wish to.

Hashim went onto say that although certain individuals will switch parties for some form of personal gain, the government will remain stable for the sake of the people of the country.

He further stated that the government is quite unbiased, and has upheld the law of the country without abusing the law, which includes activities such as helping those acting in an unlawful manner.
