The Ceylon Teachers Union (CTU) stated that measures have allegedly been taken by officials at the Ministry of Education to hire cars for themselves.

General Secretary of the Union, Joseph Stalin stated that in addition to the car presented to the secretary of the Ministry of Education,  a second car will be handed over which will cost the government a grand total of Rs. 425,000 a month.

Hence, Stalin requested the Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam to intervene in the matter, in order to do the needful.
