Australian FM Julie Bishop to meet with President Sirisena today

Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop, who is currently in Sri Lanka on a two-day state visit, is scheduled to meet with President Maithripala Sirisena today (20).
She is also due to meet with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and other high-level state officials on the same day (20).
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop landed in Sri Lanka in the evening yesterday (19).
Following her arrival, she had reportedly held a bilateral discussion and a subsequent joint press conference with her Sri Lankan counterpart, Ravi Karunanayake, on the same day (19).
Meanwhile, Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the United Nations, Jeffrey D. Feltman had met with the Governor and Chief Minister of the Eastern Province in the evening yesterday (19).
Chief Minister Nazeer Ahamed reported that the meeting had addressed Sri Lanka’s present political situation.
