Ranatunga files court case for Rs.1000 million compensation

Minister of Petroleum Resources Development, Arjuna Ranatunga has filed a court case against two trade union leaders of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) for defaming him. 

He has requested for a compensation sum of Rs.500 million from each trade union leader. 

The case was filed against Prasanna Kalutarage and Lal Bangamuwa, at the Colombo District Court, case numbers 1700/DMR/2017, 1701/DMR/2017 and 1702/DMR/2017.

The Rs. 1000 million has been demanded as compensation for defaming of Ranatunga in the public eye, by making false statements.
