July 27, 2017   01:14 pm

Lawyers of the Hatton Magistrate’s Court have decided to boycott court proceedings and engaged in a protest today (27).

The protest has been organized to express their disapproval towards the shooting of the Police officer who was part of the Jaffna High Court Judge, M. Illanchelian’s escort.

Two officers were injured in the shooting, out of which one unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

As a result of the protest and boycott, the proceedings at the Hatton Magistrate’s Court have been brought to a standstill.
