President aims to strengthen economy by strengthening agriculture - Duminda

The Minister of Agriculture, Duminda Dissanayake, stated that President Maithripala Sirisena’s aim was to strengthen the economy of the country through agriculture.

He stated that the Government had launched a number of programmes in order to strengthen the agricultural sector.

The Minister stated this upon addressing the gathering of an event in Kandy yesterday (27).

He had reportedly also adressed in his speech the topic of importing rice.
