Anti-SAITM protest march and vehicle parade commence today

The anti-SAITM protest march and vehicle parade organized by the Anti-SAITM ‘Janapavura’ Organization commences today (12).

The protest march and vehicle parade will be originating from the points of Ginigathhena, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Jaffna and Tissamaharamaya.

The parades will be reaching Colombo on Friday (15).

Meanwhile, the Registrar of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC), Dr. Terrence Gamini de Silva announced that the committee mandated with addressing the minimum standards for medicine had convened yesterday (11).

He stated that only 3 out of the 18 recommendations made by the University Grants Commission (UGC) had been given approval.

He further said that the SLMC would be gathering in the afternoon today (12) to discuss the matter further.
