Landslide warnings issued to 5 districts due to heavy rain

Five districts have been issued landslide warnings owing to the prevailing weather conditions.

The warning was issued to the following districts by the Disaster Management Centre (DMC):
Galle
Matara
Kalutara
Ratnapura
Kegalle

The spill gates of the Kukuleganga Reservoir have been opened in light of the showery weather.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department announced that rainfall was to be expected in many districts across the island.
