President wants 100% tax imposed on imported big onions

President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed the Ministry of Finance to impose a hundred per cent tax on imported big onions.
The President issued this order while directing his attention towards the problems faced by local big onion farmers when selling their crops, the President’s Media Division said.
Accordingly the tax imposed on imported big onions will be increased to 100% in the near future.
