Budget proposals contradict govt policies – Mahanamahewa

Dr.P.Mahanamahewa stated that the decision made by Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera to reduce the prices of certain alcoholic beverages while the government has adopted a national policy to curb the usage of alcohol is contradictory to the stance of the government.
He further stated that acts of this nature illustrate the ambiguity and miscommunication existing within the government.
Dr.Mahanamahewa expressed these sentiments while participating in an alcohol prevention program conducted in Dehiwala yesterday (12).
