47 suspects apprehended over Jaffna assaults

Police sources state that 47 suspects have been arrested in connection with the series of assaults that were recorded in Jaffna earlier this month.
Police Media Spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara stated that the arrests were made following the instructions of IGP Pujith Jayasundara.
6 persons were arrested in connection with assaults in Jaffna, Kopai and Manipai on Wednesday (15), by the Jaffna Police.
A day two investigation was conducted in Jaffna yesterday (18), and today (19), following which 41 suspects were apprehended.
