Education Minister to mediate talks with railway trade unions

Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam stated that he will mediate talks with the railway trade unions for the sake of the children facing the GCE Ordinary Level examinations this year. 

The Minister stated that discussions will be held today (10). 

He pointed out that the railway strike will cause problems for the children who rely on the railway service to journey to the relevant examinations centers. 

The Minister stated that a speedy resolution is required to ensure that the exam that is supposed to begin on Tuesday has no obstructions.
