UNP to contest LG polls as United National Front

The Working Committee of the United National Party (UNP) has decided to contest the forthcoming Local Government elections under the United National Front (UNF).
The decision was reached during the working committee meeting held last evening under the leadership of UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, MP Kavinda Jayawardena said.


He said an agreement was also reached to make the necessary preparations for the party to contest the local government polls as an alliance along with the smaller parties.
