Female psychological patient killed in fire at Kalubowila

A 57 year old female was killed following a fire that broke out at a two-story house on the Kohuwala-Kadawatha route in Kalubowila.
Police sources claimed that the fire broke out within a room that the female was sleeping in before it spread across the house.
It was later revealed that the deceased woman was suffering from a mild psychological condition and that she was alone when the fire broke out.
Residents of the area together with the Fire and Rescue department doused the flame soon after it spread. The police are yet to determine the cause of the incident and are conducting a further investigation into the event.
