NPC CM expresses disappointment over government officials

Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister C. V. Vigneswaran expressed his disappointment over the absence of government officials at a meeting called yesterday (16) to resolve the land crisis in North.

The meeting which was held in the CM’s office in Jaffna was not attended by a majority of government officials, resulting in collapse of the meeting.

The CM had said that the meeting will be recalled as there are many issues pertaining to the lands in North.

Meanwhile, many Northern regional secretaries claimed that they were not informed about the meeting.

Although the Chief Minister had sent letters regarding the discussion, a large number of officials have not received the letters due to a delay in night mail, it is reported.

However several officials had received letter on December 16;the day of the meeting, while they were on weekend vacation.
