Ground frost in Nuwara Eliya…

The lowest temperature in Sri Lanka today (23) was recorded at the Nuwara Eliya Meteorological Station, at 5.0 degrees Celsius, according to the Department of Meteorology. Ground frost was observed in several areas of Nuwara Eliya during the morning following a sharp drop in temperature. Although this phenomenon is typically experienced during the first half of December each year, Ada Derana reporters noted that it has occurred this year in January as well.
