Train services disrupted along main line

A train has broken down between Polgahawela and Alawwa railway stations, disrupting train services on the main line, the Railway Control Room said.

According to reports, an express train bound for Ratmalana which had departed Polgahawela railway station at 5.30am today had suffered a break down near the Walakumbura railway station.

This had resulted in delays to all trains along the main line. However, the railway control room said that a team of personnel are currently attempting to rectify the situation.
