The Central Committee of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is scheduled to assemble today (20).

Chaired by party leader, President Maithripala Sirisena, the meeting will be held at 7.00 p.m. at the President’s House.

SLFP General Secretary Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa stated that the meeting will focus considerably on the restructuring of the party.

The 16 SLFP Parliamentarians that had recently broken away from the government have been invited to the Central Committee meeting, according to Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa.

Responding to questions raised by Ada Derana regarding the participation of the 16 SLFP MPs at the Central Committee meeting, MP Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena stated that they will not attend the meeting until the SLFP withdraws from the government.
