Youths must be protected from drug menace – Mahinda Rajapaksa

The underworld is starting to rule the country at present, according to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Addressing an event held in Ambilipitiya, former President stated that, although the police requested for permission to eradicate the Aava Group, which is operating in the North, permission is not required to take such actions in the South.

The general public has become helpless as the government has failed to implement measures of any sort to curb the murders that are taking place on a daily basis in the country, he added.

Commenting further, the former President emphasized that the drug menace has now infiltrated the villages, hence, the parents and religious leaders have to take immediate measures to protect the country’s youths from becoming victims of this drug menace.
