Child suffocates to death from anti-worm medication

A child from Galewela town who got a tablet stuck in his throat has suffocated to death, stated Ada Derana reporter.
The incident had occurred last night (15) and had been dead upon admittance to Galewela District Hospital.
The deceased is a 6 year old boy named Mithum Sanuja Gangodawatte studying in Galewela Primary School.
He had been given anti-worm medication from the school and his mother had broken the said pill into 2 pieces before giving to him. However, the pill had gotten stuck in the child’s throat, revealed preliminary investigations.
Galewela police is conducting further investigations.
