Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that the current government is responsible for implementing the most number of developmental projects within a short period of time.

He stated this addressing an event held at Temple Trees yesterday (22) to award the appointment letters to new Grama Niladhari officers.

The Prime Minister further stated that the Sri Lankan Rupee continues to depreciate due to the fuel price hike and the increase in the value of US Dollar.

“As Sri Lanka does not have an export economy, we are unable to obtain foreign exchange through exportation, hence part of it has to be borrowed,” the Prime Minister stated.

As a solution for this, the government is carrying out nearly 100,000 projects in the grassroots level in order to strengthen the economy of the country, PM Wickremesinghe further commented.
