MPs Rishad Bathiudeen and Rauff Hakeem is set to join the government in the future stated, Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama.

Commenting to the Media in Galle, he pointed out that the majority in parliament has been completed as of now.

However, at the meeting of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) held yesterday (06), it has been decided to show their support to former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Denying the allegations of him joining with the new government, Hakeem tweeted “I wish to deny reports claiming that my party and my self have extended support to the newly sworn in PM. We continue to hold this appointment as inconsistent with parliamentary democratic principles until his majority is proven in @ParliamentLK. #LKA”

Meanwhile, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena stated that the incumbent government has acted constitutionally with regard to the reconvening of the parliament.
