General Sarath Fonseka has been confirmed as the United National Front’s common Presidential candidate, United National Party Deputy General Secretary Lakshman Seneviratne told Adaderana a short while ago.

Excellent!!!! We should bring our country to proper track!!!! The best person who can do it is General SF… MR never try to stop corruptions, miss use of power and properties and so many things… I don’t say that previous gov didn’t do such… but there is no limit for it now….. If MR and join hands with ppl LTTE like Karuna and Pillayan, why General SF can’t join hands with legal oppression parties of this country?? If GF is not coming with UNP ticket we do not want to support him. UNP is a great party with rich history. If GF is not willing to contest under UNP, we will not vote for him. Afterall, the way he turn his back to Mahinda, he will definetly turn back to UNP leadership. Thus, as strong supporters of UNP we request party to force GF to contest under UNP or do not support him at all. He is very ungrateful person. If he does not come under UNP we request all UNPers to not to vote for him.

I deely sorry about the Genral´s decision ( if it´s true ). The General can´t fight with MR. It´s sure defeat. Once after the defeat, you don´t find your saviors ( Ranil, Mangala, Hakeem and Mano ) around you. Still I have respect on your name. But if you going to contest against MR, I have to think twice. You too are not different from another opportunistic politicians. You have to remember where were you before 2005 and who set you this height. To all those who think that General Fonseka made the wrong move, think again. After winning the war, Fonseka was treated badly by the the president because he knew Fonseka was becoming more popular and powerful. He was given powerless positions by the president (secretary to the sports minister?). I am very glad that there is a powerful candidate to stop the Rajpaksha and family business. The corruption is insane right now. This will be a good time for some positive change. However i have doubts if Fonseka will actually win with the more powerful president. Good luck!

The government won all other election saling the security forces.Now government is geting difficulties to get the hart of the people.That is the reason they created story of forign involvemnt.As per the recent information from the government that we got GSP+,IMF loan & all other favours from forign countries.It means there is no forign involvement.Hence this decision taken by Gen.Fonseka himself.While wearing uniform he was good soldier.As we know he stopped coruption in the army.Lot of isolated things to public due to threat to journerlist.But he was the man knew all things.He was quait due to wearing uniform.Now he is free.He wants to save the nation from devils.Those devils are doing all the things in the name of nation & motherland.Gen.Fonseka knew all.He will change the country system & bring the country to respectable status.We have to support to him without hesitation.All the best dear Gen.Go ahead we are with you.

This in fact convinces that Gen. Fonseka is really suitable for salvation army as he goes with Mangala etc. Now that what about Pamankada? Medawachchi and Thoppigala? If Gen. wants to win and then renounce presidency so that Ranil will lead the country, that will be the day that all Sri lankans start to think the mess they have created letting Gen in. So voting is not just about emotions but brain storming too. The secret winner in this conspiracy will be the LTTE as the West said once they are not just ruthless but are very clever too. Sinhalaya sometimes eat not only one kewum but two too. Gen. perhaps has eaten more than two kewum made by the diaspora.

The real fact is Ranil never lost a fairly contested presidential election. Chandrike won due to sympathy votes since she came on TV with one covered eye. Mahinda won with a thin margin even after getting help from the very same Prabakaran purely by getting him to prevent north east voting. While doing all this what was said in election platforms were that Ranil is having a secret pact with LTTE. Now all these self motivated fools who had critisized Ranil think for a while who are the real traitors of this country. Do you´ll catogorize a person who could not lie to general public, who could not give false promises to general public, who is not corrup and does not promise what cannot be delivered and does only what he promises as a week person? When the country was in the verge of collaps financially, during Chandrika´s period it was Ranil who turned it around within two years. Our country does not need pretenders, self motivated poeple with acting capabities or rouges. I believe SF and Ranil can work together since they both have one vision and one mission that is save and develop our mother land. Whilst appreciating the political leadership President Rajapakse gave and since both seems to be formidable opponant to each other our only reaquest is let people decide who is more suitable by holding a fair and just election. There are three crucial days in Sri lankas recent history. Firstly the day JRJ decided to hold a referundun instead of a General Election. If that stupid action was not taken place all those leaders like Lalith Athiulathmudali and Rohana Wijeweera are still alive and thosandso of valuble lives of youths and artists could have been saved. The second crucial date is on which Prabhakaran died. Whole nation worked as a team ultimately showed to the world that we are a capable nation and the main barrier for our unity and development is cleared. The third crucial date is the Gen SF decided to contest for presidential election. Those who have short sights please remmber this date. Even though he win or loose the aroused negative forces with this move will start the country back. I can predict divisions among security forces and country loving elements. With this greedy dicision of SF those who win will be the bancrupt politicians and their aspirations to keep Sri Lanka a hell to play their master games. Sri Lankans dont be fools. Dont create path to dictatorship.

We accept that General SF contributed more than 90% in winning the war by commanding the force. But that does not mean you can become a good political leader for sri lanka. It´s like a guy who saves a life then applies to be a doctor. You need to have political knowledge, experience to get to the presidency. MR has lot of mistakes, But we can make him better, After the war country is already on the right path to recovery and prosperity. It cannot be done overnight, and MR is on the right track and we should allow him to continue or with SF no more foreign investments will come, everyone left will pack up and look for other options. He is a good soldier, A good soldier who have become a traitor will never make a good leader to run a country. He is experienced in forcing soldiers to do things and not requesting.
