Water quality of Kelani River improves

Tests carried out by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) have confirmed that the quality of water in the Kelani River has improved.

The CEA yesterday (01) collected water samples from the Kelani River for water quality monitoring for analysis.

Accordingly, it has been revealed that the quality of water in the Kelani River has improved yesterday as per the standard measures.

CEA says that the turbidity levels of the water are as good as ever reported in recent history.

The decrease in the release of industrial effluent into the Kelani River has resulted in the good quality of its waters, pointed out the Laboratory Services Division of CEA.

Water samples were obtained from several points in the Kelani River including the Kaduwela Bridge and the Kalu Ela Bridge.
