Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster grows by 109 cases

More COVID-19 infections have expanded the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster by 109 cases, stated the Commander of Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.

Among the new cases, 49 cases have been identified from the Peliyagoda Fish Market.

Thirty-nine of them are detected from the quarantine centers operated by the Sri Lanka Army.

The remaining 23 patients are close contacts of the Minuwangoda cluster patients, said the Army Chief.

Accordingly, the total number of cases reported from the Minuwangoda coronavirus cluster has risen to 2,451.
