A group of parliamentarians of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) have written to Basil Rajapaksa requesting him to take up the position as a Member of Parliament.

A letter, signed by 19 MPs, has been directed to the SLPP’s national organizer on Thursday (12).

They have pointed out that it was Basil Rajapaksa who created the party to clinch the victory at Provincial Council, Presidential and Parliamentary elections just within four years.

The party members stressed that SLPP without Basil Rajapaksa is unimaginable, adding that his presence in the House is paramount to the country’s economic development and to the active contribution of SLPP for the country.
