Japanese Kyogen dramas at Kelaniya University

The Japanese Graduates’ Alumni Association of Sri Lanka and the Drama and Theatre and Image Arts Unit of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan will stage three Japanese (Kyogen) dramas in Sinhala titled ‘Suminuri’ (Tears of a Crocodile) ‘Bushu’ (Poison) and ‘Kami Fusen’ (Paper balloon) at 6.00 pm on Monday 1st March 2010 at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall, University of Kelaniya.

 

The three plays are directed by Dr. Patrick Ratnayake, Priyankara Ratnayake and Tharindu Dodamtenna and the script has been translated from Japanese to Sinahala by Professor Ariya Rajakaruna.

 

Admission to the three stage plays will be free of charge and have been organized with a view to further promoting Japan-Sri Lanka cultural exchanges.
