The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is to record a statement from detained General (retired) Sarath Fonseka’s wife Anoma Fonseka, said Democratic National Alliance (DNA) sources this evening.

The sources stated that the reason or specific details of why the CID wanted to record a statement from her were not clear. However, the sources stated that Anoma Fonseka may meet the CID officers sometime on Sunday (March 21) regarding their need for a statement.

The General’s wife Anoma Fonseka is leading the general election campaign for the DNA in the absence of her husband who is under military custody pending two General Courts Martial.
