Detained general (retired) Sarath Fonseka’s wife Anoma Fonseka has confirmed that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is to question her this evening (Sunday). However she has not stated on what the CID is to question her on.

Meanwhile the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna’s Vijitha Herath said that the partys’ Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is also the spokesman for Gen. Fonseka’s Democratic National Alliance (DNA) is also to be questioned by the CID.

Mr. Herath has stated that Anura Kumara will be questioned by the CID on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Earlier in the week, Jathika Nidahas Peramuna (JNP) member M. Muzammil had urged the authorities to carry out a probe on how certain documents said to have been written by Gen. Fonseka had been smuggled out and handed over to British TV Channel 4.

Sections of the media reported yesterday quoting Director General of the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) Lakshman Hulugalle that the Government is to carry out such a probe.
