VIDEO: UNP Govt. to oppose Mahinda Presidency - Gayantha

March 22, 2010   01:46 pm

The United National Party MP and spokesman Gayantha Karunatilleka said today that the country would benefit if the people elect a UNP government to counter Mahinda Rajapaksa’s presidential powers if necessary. He added that the Executive Presidency and a 2/3 majority would drive the country into an undemocratic path.

He said that since the President has already been elected it would benefit the country if a UNF government is installed to keep tabs on any moves that may infringe on the democracy of the country.
